Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1 These terms of use (together with any documents referred to in them) set out the terms on which you may use our website www.homespree.co.uk (the Site) and/or our mobile application (the App), whether as a guest or registered user, and the connection service provided through them (collectively, HomeSpree), including any bookings made for services.

1.2 Please read these terms carefully before using HomeSpree. By accessing or using HomeSpree, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use HomeSpree.

1.3 These terms do not apply to any cleaning or other services you request from Service Providers (as defined below). Those services are governed by a separate contract between you and the Service Provider.

1.4 We recommend that you print or save a copy of these terms for future reference.

2. Other Applicable Terms

2.1 These terms incorporate our Privacy and Cookie Policy, which explains how we process personal data and the cookies or similar technologies we use. By using HomeSpree, you consent to such processing and warrant that all data you provide is accurate.

3. About Us and How to Contact Us

3.1 HomeSpree is a technology platform that connects users with independent third‑party providers of cleaning and other listed services (Service Providers). HomeSpree enables you to engage a Service Provider in your area.

3.2 If you need to contact us, including for complaints or notices, please email hello@homespree.co.uk.

4. Disclaimer

4.1 HomeSpree provides an introduction platform only. We do not provide cleaning or other services ourselves. We do not guarantee the availability, suitability or quality of any Service Provider introduced through HomeSpree. Any contract for services is strictly between you and the Service Provider.

4.2 It is the Service Provider’s responsibility to perform the services you request (including providing cleaning materials if agreed). You must comply with any terms agreed between you and the Service Provider.

4.3 You understand that you enter into a separate contract with the Service Provider. The details of the services are at the Service Provider’s discretion and separate from HomeSpree.
The number of cleaners attending may differ from the estimate in your booking confirmation. If you require a specific number, you must state this in your booking notes.

4.4 We do not employ Service Providers and are not responsible for their acts, omissions, behaviour or service quality. Any damage caused by a Service Provider is their responsibility, not ours.

4.5 Complaints about a Service Provider must be raised with them directly. If you cannot resolve the issue, we will use reasonable endeavours to assist.

4.6 We take reasonable steps to assess Service Providers (e.g., interviews, ID checks, references), but rely on third‑party information and cannot guarantee accuracy or suitability. You engage Service Providers at your own risk. We may remove a Service Provider based on feedback but are not obliged to do so.

5. Use of Your Account

5.1 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your username and password.

5.2 We may suspend or remove your access at any time for any reason.

5.3 You are responsible for all actions taken under your account, whether mistaken or fraudulent.

6. Pricing and Payment

6.1 Payment Method and Authorisation

6.1.1 When requesting services, you must provide valid credit or debit card details.

6.1.2 Your payment details are processed and stored securely by our third‑party payment provider. HomeSpree does not store full card details.
You authorise our payment provider to retain your payment method and to charge it for services booked through HomeSpree.

6.1.3 We may carry out pre‑authorisation checks via our payment provider.

6.2 Charges

6.2.1 The total amount payable comprises:
(a) the Service Provider’s fee (based on time spent for regular services);
(b) our service fee as stated on your invoice (available on request);
(c) any additional services selected during booking.

6.2.2 A single receipt will be issued for each booking.

6.3 Pre‑Authorisation Hold

6.3.1 A pre‑authorisation hold may be placed on your card 48 hours before the clean.
If funds are insufficient, we may request an alternative card. Failure to provide one will be treated as a cancellation within 48 hours. Any pre authorisation hold will be released by your bank or card issuer after the service is completed, subject to their processing times.

6.4 Payment Timing

6.4.1 Payment is taken on the day of the service (or later).
6.4.2 Regular services are adjusted to reflect actual time spent (minimum charge: 2 hours).

6.5 Unpaid Amounts

6.5.1 If any amount remains unpaid, we may:
(a) charge reasonable administration costs;
(b) charge interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998;
(c) suspend future bookings; and/or
(d) withdraw your right to use HomeSpree.

You agree to reimburse us for any chargebacks or reversed transactions, together with any associated fees reasonably incurred by us.

7. User Obligations

7.1 Contract with the Service Provider

7.1.1 Service Providers are introduced as self‑employed individuals. You retain them under a separate Contract for Services, agreed directly between you and the Service Provider.

7.1.2 You must agree directly with the Service Provider what services are to be performed. You may vary the scope by mutual agreement.

7.2 Cleaner Assignment and Cover

7.2.1 We will assign a cleaner and arrange an initial interview, which takes place during your first clean. Attendance is optional.

7.2.2 At your request, we will try to provide temporary cover if your cleaner is unavailable. Cover may not be on your usual day and may require you to provide access. You pay only the agency fee for hours worked.

7.2.3 We will replace your cleaner upon request and introduce the new cleaner accordingly.

7.2.4 We will share your information with relevant registered cleaners (regular, temporary or replacement).

7.3 Safe Working Environment

7.3.1 You must provide a safe working environment. The Service Provider may leave immediately if they reasonably consider the environment to be unsafe. In such circumstances, the booking may be treated as a late cancellation and charged in full.

7.3.2 Electricity and hot water must be available. Failure to provide these will be treated as a late cancellation and the full booking fee may be charged.

7.3.3 If the Service Provider cannot attend, they or we will contact you to rearrange.

7.3.4 If the Service Provider cannot gain access, this will be treated as a late cancellation and the full booking fee may be charged.

7.3.5 You must provide suitable parking. If unavailable, the booking may be cancelled and charged in full. Parking costs will be added to your bill.

7.4 Additional Obligations for End of Tenancy & One‑Off Bookings

(Does not apply to regular cleaning services)

7.4.1 The property must be:
(a) free from rubbish;
(b) unfurnished;
(c) fridge/freezer defrosted;
(d) free from excessive mould, limescale, grime, bodily fluids or other conditions that significantly extend cleaning time.

7.4.2 If these conditions are not met, the Service Provider may require additional time and charges. Any guarantee or free re‑clean offer becomes void.

8. Booking Process and Cancellation

8.1 All cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice.

8.2 You may cancel, amend or reschedule up to 48 hours before the start time.

8.3 Cancellations or rescheduling within 48 hours may be charged at the full booking value.

8.4 Bookings made within 48 hours are subject to the same cancellation rules.

9. Service Providers – Conduct and Restrictions

9.1 You must treat Service Providers courteously and lawfully and provide a safe working environment.

9.2 All bookings with Service Providers must be made through HomeSpree.

9.3 You must not engage or employ any Service Provider you have booked through HomeSpree (or whose details you obtained from us) outside the HomeSpree platform.

9.4 If a Service Provider offers to work for you outside HomeSpree, you must refuse and notify us immediately.

9.5 If you accept such an offer (or make one), we may immediately withdraw your right to use HomeSpree and you must compensate us for losses up to £500.

9.6 You must not engage any Service Provider for six months after termination of your agreement with us.

10. Resolving Issues

10.1 To make a complaint or provide feedback, email hello@homespree.co.uk. We will contact the Service Provider and attempt to resolve the issue.

10.2 Free Re‑Clean Guarantee (End of Tenancy & One‑Off Bookings Only)

10.2.1 To qualify:
(a) notify us within 48 hours of completion;
(b) explain the issue in writing;
(c) provide relevant photos.

10.2.2 If valid, the Service Provider will re‑clean free of charge. We will offer up to three re‑clean times within 7 days. If you decline all options, the offer ends.

10.2.3 Carpet cleaning is excluded from guarantees.

11. Insurance

11.1 Service Providers are required to hold their own public liability insurance. Claims under £300 cannot be processed.

11.2 For claims above £300, we will facilitate contact with the Service Provider so you may pursue a claim with their insurer. The insurer’s decision is final.

11.3 If damage occurs, you must email hello@homespree.co.uk within 48 hours with photos. Claims cannot be made by phone. Claims submitted after 48 hours will not be accepted. HomeSpree is not responsible for any uninsured losses or for any decision made by a Service Provider’s insurer. Our role is limited to facilitating communication between you and the Service Provider.

12. Suspension and Termination

12.1 We may cancel, pause or terminate your access to HomeSpree at our absolute discretion.

12.2 If your access is withdrawn:
(a) all rights under these terms cease;
(b) you must stop using HomeSpree immediately;
(c) you must delete the App from your devices;
(d) you must not attempt to re‑register.

12.3 If you create new accounts after termination, we may cancel any cleans and charge cancellation fees.

14.1 All intellectual property rights in HomeSpree, including the Site, App, branding, content, text, graphics, software and underlying technology, belong to us or our licensors.

14.2 You may use HomeSpree only for personal, non‑commercial purposes. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, display, publish or create derivative works from any part of HomeSpree without our written consent.

15. No Warranty / Platform Availability

15.1 HomeSpree is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error‑free or secure access.

15.2 We may suspend, withdraw or restrict access to HomeSpree for business or operational reasons.

16. Limitation of Liability

16.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.

16.2 Subject to clause 16.1, we shall not be liable for:
(a) any loss arising from your contract with a Service Provider;
(b) any indirect, consequential or economic loss;
(c) loss of data, profits, business or reputation;
(d) any acts or omissions of Service Providers.

16.3 Our total liability to you for all claims arising under these terms shall not exceed the total service fees paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

17.2 We may provide notices to you via email, SMS, in‑app notifications or by updating these terms.

18. Variation of Terms

18.1 We may amend these terms from time to time.
18.2 Continued use of HomeSpree constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

19. Entire Agreement

19.1 These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of HomeSpree and supersede any prior understandings or representations.

20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

20.1 These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non‑contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

20.2 You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
